Stadia News: Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order Goes Pro, Stadia Almost Had Fortnite & Another Departure

Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order has been officially announced as the remaining Stadia Pro game for the month of May.

This is a fine addition for Stadia Pro members and you can hop in and play right now.

Jedi Fallen Order accompanies Trine 4 - The Nightmare Prince, Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, and Floor Kids to make up your May Pro games.

The latest chapter in the Resident Evil saga arrives later this week. On May 7, you can pick up Resident Evil Village from the Stadia Store for $59.99.

And remember, if you pre-order or buy Resident Evil Village before May 21 at midnight PT you can claim a free Stadia Premiere Edition while supplies last (terms apply, not available in all Stadia countries).

9to5 Google has reported in an article today that Epic Games apparently offered Fortnite for Stadia in exchange for free access to the Google Play Store.

IGN reporter Rebekah Valentine claims on Twitter that, before Epic officially launched Fortnite on Google Play, the company had offered to bring the megahit to Stadia in exchange for being given a free pass on the Play Store for Android distribution. That obviously didn’t happen, but it’s interesting to see that Epic apparently made that offer given that their CEO, Tim Sweeny, said in late 2020 that Fortnite for Stadia wasn’t on the road map because the platform lacked a “mass market” userbase.

One final piece of news regarding stadia today. Tim Moss, head of research projects for Stadia has left Google. Mr Moss announced his departure on Twitter and joins John Justice as the latest employee to leave.

Some sort of shake up is going down right now so stay tuned to find who, if anyone, comes in to replace them.
