Stadia News: Chromecast with Google TV and other Android TV OS Device Support Coming June 23rd

The first version of Stadia on Chromecast with Google TV is coming June 23rd. Not only that - we will also be able to play Stadia across a number of compatible Android TV OS devices come June 23rd also.

Initially, Stadia will be natively supported on the following devices:

  • Chromecast with Google TV

  • Hisense® Android Smart TVs (U7G, U8G, U9G)

  • Nvidia® Shield TV

  • Nvidia® Shield TV Pro

  • Onn™ FHD Streaming Stick and UHD Streaming Device

  • Philips® 8215, 8505, and OLED 935/805 Series Android TVs

  • Xiaomi® MIBOX3 and MIBOX4

If you don't see the particular device you would like to play on you can opt into the experimental support section through the Stadia Android app.

To try playing Stadia on an Android device that is not currently supported, sign in to the Stadia app on the device that you want to try, open your Stadia settings, tap Experiments, then turn on Play on this device. This setting will only affect the device on which you set it, and you can turn it off at any time. Note that your play experience may vary depending on your mobile device and network speed.

If you already have a stadia account it will be real easy to get started on the new devices on June 23rd. Open up the Play Store, download the Stadia app, sign in and your off and running.

Use Your Stadia controller or a compatible Bluetooth controller and enjoy gaming on the big screen in more places.
