This week GFN Thursday brings us eleven games in total. Four of which are day and date releases; Cris Tales, Death's Door, Warhammer 40,00: Battlesector and Orcs Must Die! 3. Five games are already available on GeForce NOW but this week come from additional storefronts.
GFN Thursday Highlight - Orcs Must Die! 3
Slice, burn, toss, zap. Grind and gib massive hordes of repugnant orcs in this long-awaited successor to the award-winning Orcs Must Die! Series. My highlight of the week is set to release July 23rd and will be joining the GeForce Now library via Steam. You can pre-purchase Orcs Must Die! 3 for around £25 right now and receive additional bonus content.
Everything you enjoyed from the previous instalments return plus much more. A brand new story is available and is set 20 years after Orcs Must Die! 2, where the War Mage and Sorceress have rebuilt the order and trained new apprentices.
All new war scenarios allow us to confront overwhelming armies of orcs on the battlefields surrounding the castles. War machines like mega flip traps and mega boom barrels let you throw and unleash pyrotechnic hell upon the waves of orcs.
The Drastic Steps campaign and content are included for free with Orcs Must Die! 3 and I highly recommend giving this one a go. It’s a great solo challenge and a ton of fun playing with friends online.
“We love that our players can experience all of the action and all of the orcs on any GeForce NOW compatible device,” said Patrick Hudson, CEO at developer Robot Entertainment. “It’s great that players who may not have powerful devices can still play the real PC version of our game at orc-slaying power.”
GFN Thursday Games
A further 10 games are set to arrive this week and we’ll begin with a day and date release, Cris Tales.
This is a gorgeous, indie love letter to classic JRPGs with a new perspective. Peer into the past, act in the present and watch your choices dynamically change the future - all on one screen. I’ve had a play on this already and surprisingly, enjoyed the gameplay. I say surprisingly as it’s not generally the style of game I usually like, so it’s worth checking out.
Another day and date release, available now is Death's Door. Reaping souls of the dead and punching a clock might get monotonous but it’s honest work for a crow. The job gets lively when your assigned soul is stolen and you must track down a desperate thief to a realm untouched by death - where creatures grow far past their expiry.
Everything you have come to expect from a game published by Devolver Digital is present here and you can play via Steam for around £17.
Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector is a fast-paced turn-based strategy game set in the grimdark universe of the 41st Millenium. Pick your force, develop your army, field mighty heroes and fight for victory using superior strategy, awesome abilities, and devastating weaponry.
Recommend this if you haven’t already, it’s unlike anything else you have played. The Alan Wake series really does hold up today.
Arcana Heart 3 LOVEMAX SIXSTARS!!!!!! XTEND was finally created as a PC game after spending most of its days in the Japanese arcades.
The 2D Anime Action Fighter has very positive reviews all-round and is coming to GFN this week.
You can pick it up in the Steam store for around £23.
Disgaea 2 PC is set to arrive this week. If you love a turn-based strategy JRPG then this hit from NIS America should float your boat.
This instalment features an all-new Dark Court system where the good are punished and the evil praised.
Available via Steam for around £15.
Edge of Eternity makes its way to GFN via Epic this week. You already have access if you own the game on Steam.
If not you can pick it up from the Epic Games Store for around £25 and jump into the recently released Open World Strategy RPG where enthralling stories, plot twists and epic battles await you.
This classic RPG experience inspired by games like Baldur’s Gate, Fallout and Arcanum, is available in the Epic Games Store for £16.
This is starting to sound repetitive here folks, Siege Survival Gloria Victis is making its way via the Epic games store this week.
This recently released medieval strategy hit is priced around £20 but is already available if you own the game on Steam.
Guess what folks, another game is coming this week that is already available from other storefronts. I promise this is the last.
The online free-to-play MMO, World of Warplanes will be available this week via the Steam store. This one is still in early access despite being nearly 4 years old now.
What's New in GeForce NOW 2.0.32 - Release Highlights
Fit and Finish Updates
Improved app load time by around five seconds.
The mic is now enabled by default for members using GeForce NOW on PC and macOS (native or browser apps), which will make it easier to use push-to-talk in-game. You can always choose to disable the mic from the in-game overlay: press Ctrl+G for Windows and ChromeOS, or Cmd+G for macOS.
For Client Input Method Editor (IME) users, they added the Client IME selection to the in-game overlay. If you are having trouble with buttons not working as you would expect, make sure to select your preferred keyboard from the menu.
They also updated Client IME to allow you to more easily select keyboards that are not listed. This will make it more simple to set up a better default button-mapping scheme. You can find this in the settings section of the app.
Clicking on "Stay in game" will now properly resume the game after resuming from sleep mode.
You will no longer see an infinite spinner after starting a game, putting your system to sleep, and then trying to resume your game.
Fixed a problem that broke in-stream statistics if you enabled them too quickly when launching a game.
In-game overlay keyboard shortcuts will no longer prevent you from trying different shortcuts at the same time.
The search bar will now be in the correct location after resizing your window on Chrome.
