Rebel's With A Cause
A number of this week's games coming to GFN are being onboarded from game studio Rebellion. Their Chief Strategy Officer, Matt Jeffery had this to say about their partnership;
“GeForce NOW gives us a great opportunity to provide access to our catalog of games to even more gamers. NVIDIA makes onboarding games to the cloud a simple process, helping us bring our games to players on low-powered or incompatible devices, with the power of a real gaming rig.”

This action space simulator is a day and date release today from Steam. Starbase is a hybrid voxel/vertex-based space MMO with a fully destructible and infinitely expanding universe. A focus is placed on building and designing spaceships and stations, exploration, resource gathering, crafting, trading and combat. No price point on this one just yet though.
Banners of Ruin
Banners of Ruin is set to come out of early access into a full release on July 30. Build a deck and fight a series of turn-based combats with up to 6 party characters through the city of Dawns Point. Each character can unlock a set of unique cards and abilities that can augment your deck in powerful, exciting ways. Banners of Ruin will cost around £16 and is available from Steam.
BUSTAFELLOWS mixes dangerous romance with a murder mystery. This JRPG Visual Novel is certainly an acquired taste with a touch of dating simulation thrown in for good measure. Set to release tomorrow, July 30 on Steam but no price indicated on this one just yet.
Vesper is another day and date release from Steam this week that will be streaming on GeForce NOW July 30. This dark, mysterious-looking 2D puzzle platformer will have you play as a small android crossing a fallen world. Hunted by merciless machines you must explore and find out how to control the power of light to decide the fate of your race.
Alan Wake is being onboarded from the epic games store this week. If you don't already have it via Steam you can pick it up from Epic for around £12. This action-horror shooter from Remedy Entertainment is certainly one of a kind and I highly recommend it if you haven't played before.
Battlezone: Combat Commander
Battlezone: Combat Commander is a remaster of the classic first-person shooter real-time-strategy classic Battlezone 2. Slick new visuals, brand new achievements, and steam workshop support breathed new life into a classic game back in 2018 when it was first released. You can pick it up from Steam this week and stream on GFN for around £15.
Everybody wants to rule the world! You can achieve global power with the classic Evil Genius game this week. Coming from Steam and available for £6.99, this classic tale of global dominance will test your strategic skills and your base-building techniques.
Evil Genius 2: World Domination
Build your own unique evil lair and cover operation, Train a force of criminal minions, Defend your Lair from the Forces of Justice, and Dominate the world with a Doomsday Device in this direct sequel to the 2004 cult classic. You can pick this one up from Steam this week.
A unique first-person life simulation where you are a lumberjack, believe it or not, building up a business and founding a long-lasting dynasty for generations to come. This game incorporates a mix of forestry, logging and life simulation combined with role-playing elements. If you fancy chopping down a tree or 16,000 head over to the Epic Games Store and pick this up for around £20.
Moonlighter will be joining the library of over 1000 games this week on GeForce NOW. This is a beautiful action RPG adventure game with rogue-lite elements. You take on the role of shopkeeper Will, who tends to do business in the day but aims to become a hero in his own right by night. Highly recommend this one, a fantastic little game that can be picked up from Epic for around £5 as there is a sale on right now.
Trials Fusion comes by way of Ubisoft Connect this week. If you have a Ubisoft plus subscription this is part of that catalogue. Just remember to add it to your Ubisoft library before launching on GFN. If not it’s coming in at £5 from their storefront. Really great game. There is a huge array of platform racing challenges to test your skills along obstacle-ridden courses and you can even create your own and try out other players creations too.
X3: Farnhams Legacy
The penultimate game this week is X3: Farnhams Legacy. This is a whole new game inside a game if that makes sense folks. You have to have X3: Albion Prelude to access this completely free, newly developed addition. If you play the game you know exactly what I mean and exactly what this game entails. A brand new story is unfolding with new drone carriers and armoured transport ships amongst many new features. Pick this up for free from Steam.
Zombie Army 4: Dead War
The final game this week is a great one. Zombie Army 4: Dead War. Hitler's hordes are back again. Abominable occult enemies, epic weapons and a new campaign that supports 1-4 players locally and online awaits you. 1940s Europe is the backdrop for this one as you fight to save humanity from armageddon once again. Folks if you haven’t played this game please try it, such a fun game. The good news is you can pick it from either Steam or the Epic Game Store for around £40 and is, in my opinion, worth every penny.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits is the latest upcoming game to suffer a dreaded delay. The Ember Lab team took to Twitter to announce this late last night.
The decision to delay the release of the game until September 21st is to give more time to have the game polished across all platforms. This extra time "is critical to ensure the best experience possible" they say.
Disappointing but like me, you would probably rather have a finished game come late than a broken game released too soon.
Well, my good people, that wraps up this week's GFN Thursday news. Last week was rather deflating, but they picked it back up again this week with some great additions.
