E3 has revealed some great game announcements for cloud gaming platforms and services. Let's dive deeper into what we know so far and their are some great announcements in here.
E3 Cloud Gaming News So Far...
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege - The popular, tense, tactical shooter is set to launch on Stadia, June 30. In conjunction with the Stadia launch the game will also support cross-play and cross-progression between PC, Stadia and Luna.
As the game is available on GeForce NOW through Ubisoft Connect, Epic and Steam this means no matter which platform or service you choose, you'll be able to hook up with your squad.
Ubisoft have also detailed plans to have cross progression across all platforms in early 2022.
Great news for Rainbow 6 gamers. No matter which service or platform you choose, you'll be able to transfer you progress and play with all your friends and team mates.
The next season of Rainbow Six Siege is set to launch June 14. Thunderbird is the newest operator to be introduced.
Thunderbird can deploy static gadgets called Kóna Stations. Any player (ally or enemy) standing next to them can consume their charge to heal themselves. The charge comes back to the device with a cooldown. It can overheal the targeted player up to 130 HP and even revive a player down but not out. Thunderbird hails from the Nakoda First Nation of the northern prairies of North America.
Rainbow Six Extraction - Formerly known as Rainbow Six Quarantine, made it's debut at yesterdays Ubisoft Forward and is set to release, September 16. This is the newest mainline game from the Rainbow Six franchise and offers exciting new features while building on the original tactical gameplay the franchise is famed for.
Rainbow Six Extraction is coming to Stadia and is already available for pre-order in the store. The Deluxe Edition is priced at £75.99 and includes, REACT Strike Pack, Orbital Decay Bundle, Obscura Pack and Noxious Touch Pack. The Standard Edition is priced at £59.99 and if you pre-order you will be granted the Orbital Decay Bundle.
It will be available on the Ubisoft Store on Windows PC and will be included in your Ubisoft + subscription. The Deluxe Edition will be included in your Ubisoft + subscription.
With all this being the case I imagine it will be part of the Ubisoft+ channel on Luna and hopefully we see an announcement for GFN real soon.
Riders Republic - A massive multiplayer open-world playground awaits us on September 2nd. Join 64 player lobbies across a range of outdoor sports from biking, snowboarding, skiing, wingsuits flying and much more.
The Ultimate Edition will be part of your Ubisoft + subscription and will be playable through Luna and Stadia.
The game is available for pre-order on the official Ubisoft site but not on the Stadia store yet. You can however register for Beta access here and Stadia is listed which is fantastic.
No word on availability for GFN member's via Ubisoft Connect as yet so I'll keep my eye on that.
Humankind - A Historical Strategy game where you will re-write the entire narrative of humankind – a convergence of culture, history, and values that allows you to create a civilization that is as unique as you are.
We already know Humankind is coming to Stadia on August 17 but a recent tweet from the official Humankind Twitter account has revealed it is also coming to GeForce NOW.
Gain access by pre-purchasing on @Steam or @EpicGames Store, and coming to a cloud near you with @NVIDIAGFN.
This suggests the game will be available on GFN from both store fronts although I have reached out for confirmation. Stay tuned to find out more when I get it.
The Digital Deluxe Edition is available for pre-order in the Stadia Store right now.
SkateBIRD - This is an upcoming skateboarding video game where you can grind on bendy straws, kickflip over staplers, and carve killer lines through cardboard and sticky tape parks.
Great news for Amazon Luna users as you see below the Luna logo has appeared on one of their publication images.
The game releases on August 12 and I expect Amazon Luna to officially announce this soon. They have been very quiet on social media as of late so hopefully we get some communication real soon.
Just Dance 2022 - Get ready to dance with this Ubisoft Original. Just Dance 2022 will launch November 4 and is coming to Stadia. Three songs have been revealed from the upcoming game, one of which is a collaboration with singer, dancer, actor, and choreographer Todrick Hall.
Avatar: Frontier of Pandora - This is the brand new IP from Ubisoft and I must admit, I was blown away by the trailer which you can view below.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora™ is a first person, action-adventure game developed by Massive Entertainment – a Ubisoft studio, in collaboration with Lightstorm Entertainment and Disney.
Built using the latest iteration of the Snowdrop engine, and developed exclusively for the new generation of consoles and PC, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora brings to life the alluring world of Pandora with all of its beauty and danger in an immersive, open world experience.
In this new, standalone story, play as a Na’vi and embark on a journey across the Western Frontier, a never-before-seen part of Pandora. Explore a living and reactive world inhabited by unique creatures and new characters, and push back the formidable RDA forces that threaten it.
Great news for us cloud gamers, it's coming to Stadia and Luna sometime in 2022. I cannot wait for this game, really hope we get a better Avatar game than the previous iteration which was quite frankly, dreadful.
Their is an interesting section of text above relating to it being a "next gen" game. Depending what you view as "next gen" will depend what you expect the game to be like. Are you looking for new features or are you looking for the high quality graphics and frames? Either way it's very exciting.
